Get your website enquiries in Notion

Keep your leads in Notion? Put an AI chat agent on your website. It answers visitors from your own pages and shows where each answer came from. Every enquiry it takes, and every question it couldn’t answer, arrives as a row in a Notion database.

Sending enquiries to Notion is part of the paid plans. See pricing.

Open in Hazelchat

We tried these steps with our own Notion workspace and a demo website on 27 October 2026. We have not tested Hazelchat with a Notion customer yet. If a Notion screen looks different, Notion’s own help is right.

What arrives in Notion

Connect Notion, choose the template, and Notion adds a Hazelchat page with a database to your workspace. Every new enquiry from your website chat becomes a row there.

  • The visitor

Their name and email address, the time and your website.

  • The conversation

Their message, the last question they asked and whether it was answered, and where the chat came from.

  • A link back

Open the enquiry in Hazelchat to see the whole conversation.

  • Your status

A Status column to follow up, and a board view that sorts enquiries by it.

Rename the columns, add your own and move rows as you work. Hazelchat writes by column, not by name, so your changes stay.

Unanswered questions become your to-do list

When your pages don’t answer a question, Hazel says so instead of guessing. That question arrives as a row too, without email addresses or phone numbers, in the database’s Unanswered questions view. Open it in Hazelchat, add the answer to your sources, and tick it off in Notion. At most ten questions an hour go to Notion; all of them stay in your workspace.

Set it up

  1. In Hazelchat

    Open the Notion card

Open the Notion card in Settings and click Connect Notion.

  2. In Notion

    Choose the template

Notion shows what Hazelchat may do: view the pages you select and add content to them. Click Next, choose Use a template, then Allow access. Notion copies the Hazelchat page into your workspace; Hazelchat waits until the copy is ready, which can take a few seconds.

  3. In Hazelchat

    Check the card

Back in Settings, the card says where new rows go. Open in Notion opens the database.

  4. On your site

    Add Hazelchat to your website

Add it the way your site allows: the WordPress plugin, the Wix app, the Squarespace guide, or one line of code on any other site. In Hazelchat, open Website → Install on your website → Continue setup and follow the steps for your site.

  5. On your site

    Switch on and test

Click Publish and switch on. Open your site, ask a question your pages don’t answer, and leave an enquiry with your own email address. Both rows appear in Notion within a minute.

Already have a leads database?

Choose Select pages instead of the template and pick your database. Hazelchat adds enquiries there, filling the title, the first email, date and URL columns, and puts everything else on the row’s page. It never changes your columns, so unanswered questions stay in Hazelchat. If you share a page without a database, Hazelchat creates its database in that page.

Limits

  • Hazelchat can only add rows. It can’t change or delete anything in your Notion, and it reads only the database it writes to.
  • It never writes to a page you’ve published to the web, because visitor details would be public there. If you publish the database later, sending stops and the card tells you.
  • If the database is in Notion’s trash, sending stops until you restore it and click Retry.
  • Rows in Notion are yours. Disconnecting stops new rows and leaves the existing ones where they are.
  • The connection belongs to the Notion member who connected it. If they leave the workspace, connect again.

Questions

Which Notion plan do I need?

Any Notion plan works, including Free.

Which Hazelchat plan do I need?

Sending enquiries to Notion is part of the paid plans, Starter and up. On Free the card shows the plans instead.

Does Hazelchat read my other Notion pages?

No. It only sees what you share in Notion’s screen, usually the Hazelchat page from the template, and it reads only the database’s columns and its own rows.

Are phone numbers sent?

No. Hazelchat doesn’t ask visitors for a phone number, and email addresses and phone numbers are removed from unanswered questions before they go to Notion.

How do I stop it?

Click Disconnect Notion on the card in Settings. Hazelchat gives its access back to Notion; your rows stay.

Hazelchat is not affiliated with or endorsed by Notion. Notion is named here only to say which tool these steps work with.
