Sign up, add your content, try the agent and put it on your website. The guided setup walks you through each stage, and you can stop and come back at any point.
Create your account
Start free with your email address. Hazelchat sends you a link to confirm it, then you choose a password of at least 12 characters. The Free plan needs no card.
Using Webflow or Wix? You can also start from Hazelchat’s app in that platform, which connects your site for you.
Add content
Enter your website
Type your website’s address into Website URL and click Find pages. Hazelchat reads your sitemap and the links on your start page, and follows your robots.txt.
Choose the pages
Tick the pages your agent may answer from, up to 40 at a time, and click Add pages and continue. Pages about prices, delivery, opening hours and your products or services are the most useful.
Or start from a document
No website yet, or the answers are in a file? Choose Upload a document (PDF, DOCX, TXT or Markdown, up to 5 MB) or Add approved text.
First, Check your details: your business name, your privacy notice and a privacy contact email. Visitors see these in the chat. You can also pick the agent’s icon and accent colour here; Hazelchat suggests both from your website.
Then ask what a visitor would ask. Each answer shows the sources it was written from. A test counts once an answer comes with its sources. If an answer is missing, add the page or text that has it and ask again.
Add it to your website
Under Where is your website built? choose your platform:
WordPress, Framer: install our free plugin.
Webflow, Wix: add our app. It adds the chat to your site for you.
Something else: copy one line of code into your site’s footer. Joomla has a free extension, and 12 website builders have their own guide.
Then click Publish and switch on. Hazelchat first checks that the code is on your website and only then shows the chat. Open your website, ask a question and confirm with Yes, I saw this answer. The install guide has every option in detail.
