What Hazelchat stores about your visitors, where, for how long, and what you control.
Where data is kept
Hazelchat runs in Germany, with backups in the EU. Answers are written by AI models through providers that keep no copy of the request. A data processing agreement applies to every account and is accepted at signup.
Retention and controls
- Conversation retention (days) and Enquiry retention (days): 90 days by default, from 1 to 365.
- Where conversations came from: switch it off to stop recording the page a chat started on, the referring site and campaign tags.
- Pause enquiry capture immediately: stop new enquiries at once.
Backups expire within 30 days.
